A Dark Fall

- JP -

I'm not a person at all.
But a state of confusion and pain.
Every season is Fall.
Filled with a desolate cold reign.

Another day passes.
With less, and less to say.
Another day for sadness.
Another gray sky day.

Its dark cold gladness.
Wraps about me so.
Deeper into its madness.
A heart of blackness I grow.

This morning I thought that although I don't smoke, I drink very little, I bathe every day, I cook home made meals, I have a family that loves me, and I still would like to take a carton of cigarettes, a bottle of booze and go out to the lake, sit on the steps by the power plant and just spend the day smoking, drinking and watching the herons and gulls.

Wow. Leaves! I remember those. They grow on trees, right? Used to hang on those sticks protruding out of the ground before littering the lawn in a soggy mess?

I have to disagree with line one.
You are a person. Although, I've never seen you to stand witness...
Be of good cheer. The buds will be back before you know what's happened...Nice poem: rhyme, rhythm, mood, tone, etc...
