HIM - Join Me In Death?

HIM - Join Me In Death

Baby join me in death
Baby join me in death
Baby join me in death

We are so young
our lives have just begun
but already we're considering
escape from this world

and we've waited for so long
for this moment to come
was so anxious to be together
together in death

Won't you die tonight for love
Baby join me in death
Won't you die
Baby join me in death
Won't you die tonight for love
Baby join me in death

This world is a cruel place
and we're here only to lose
so before live tears us apart let
death bless me with you

Won't you die tonight for love
Baby join me in death
Won't you die
Baby join me in death
Won't you die tonight for love
Baby join me in death

this live ain't worth living
this live ain't worth living
this live ain't worth living

Won't you die tonight for love
Baby join me in death
Won't you die
Baby join me in death
Won't you die tonight for love
Baby join me in death

Baby join me in death

The Finnish group HIM totally rules, and fans would add - the underworld - of Rock. But what else should we expect from a band with the namesake of
His Infernal Majesty, and which released an album with 666 in the title? The video made for the song Join Me In Death presents an inviting dose of death on ice, suicide, and presumably vampirism. This wickedly wonderful video works so well in invoking a sense of confusion. Does want want to join HIM in death?

Join Me In Death is off of HIMs 1999 Razorblade Romance. Join Me In Death reached number one on German sales charts for several months back in 1999. The group's popularity has slowly spread across Europe, and has been embraced by fans in the U.S.

HIM Leader Singer Ville Valo

Ville Valo is one of Rock's hottest lead performers possessing boyish good looks, and a range of talent that will continue to endear him to all those seeking a darker edgier embrace from beauty.

HIM -
Gone With The Sin

I love your skin oh so white
I love your touch cold as ice
And I love every single tear you cry
I just love the way you're losing your life

Ohohohohoh my Baby, how beautiful you are
Ohohohohoh my Darling, completely torn apart
You're gone with the sin my Baby and beautiful you are
So gone with the sin my Darling

I adore the dispair in your eyes
I worship your lips once red as wine
And I crave for your scent sending shivers down my spine
I just love the way you're running out of life

Ohohohohoh my Baby, how beautiful you are
Ohohohohoh my Darling, completely torn apart
You're gone with the sin my Baby and beautiful you are
So gone with the sin my Darling

Within the haunting love song
Gone With The Sin exist an uncomfortable undertone of madness, and perhaps murder. It's a lonely song. Is it what it seems, or something more? A love ripped apart - how sad indeed, or is it a confession? The video made for the song is beautifully done. We are with Ville Valo, so close we are - to understanding his lamentations as we walk with him right into the cemetery. Gone With The Sin is off of HIM's Razorblade Romance album.

HIM Symbol - Heartagram

Rumor has it that the group's symbol was developed by Ville Valo. The Heartagram is a mixture of the heart symbol, and the pentagram. It appears in various videos, as part of stage settings.

HIM - The Sacrament

I hear you breathe so far from me
I feel your touch so close and real
And I know
My church is not of silver and gold,
It's glory lies beyond judgment of souls
The commandments are of consolation and warmth

You know our sacred dream won't fail
The sanctuary tender and so frail
The sacrament of love
The sacrament of warmth is true
The sacrament is you

I hear you weep so far from me
I taste your tears like you're next to me
And I know
My weak prayers are not enough to heal
Oh the ancient wounds so deep and so dear
The revelation is of hatred and fear

You know our sacred dream won't fail
The sanctuary tender and so frail
The sacrament of love
The sacrament of warmth is true
The sacrament is you

The sacrament is you
The sacrament is you
The sacrament is you
The sacrament is you

You know our sacred dream won't fail
The sanctuary tender and so frail
The sacrament of love
The sacrament of warmth is true
The sacrament is you

You know our sacred dream won't fail
The sanctuary tender and so frail
The sacrament of love
The sacrament of warmth is true
The sacrament is you

The Sacrament is as simple and repetitive as a chant, or a prayer, yet virulently infectious. Sacrament is a love song wrapped in mystery, and religious undertones, but a love song it is. The Sacrament is from HIM's 2003 Love Metal album. Many of HIM's songs are dark, and deathly, but many tread upon more traditional ground as well. However, despite HIM's range, HIM dwells within darkness mainly, materializing only occasionally onto a foggy landscape lit by moon, stars, gray skies, and setting sun.

HIM is master of dark and gray melancholy, juxtaposing life and death, love and sorrow and sex in a way few bands ever contemplate. HIM's musical, and artistic alchemy has allowed the group freedom to explore an unusual range of lyrical and visual thematic terrortory.
